Economic and technology speaking, NO... So far, we are really left behind. But still, we have rich culture and tourism was our main attraction.

Philippines sad but true is lagging behind compared to other neighboring Asian Countires. But what the heck, Philippines is now competing with Laos and Vietnam! If those two could still outrun the Philippines then that would spell "STUPIDITY!"

No, we are already behind even in South East Asia, much more with the whole Asia.



On the average, we can speak/write better English than most of asian countries, we have a very high literacy but other than that we are way way behind.

YES, of course.



In aircraft marshalls, in ensuring planes are hi-jack proof. We have the only airline in the world (PAL) recorded for literally booting out a hijacker from a plane.



In political changes, totally disregarding formalities of constitution, and utilizing people power / media power we change Presidents accordingly.

we are behind compared to South Korea, Japan, HongKong, Malaysia, etc...



but when you compare it to Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, etc, I'd say a NO! NO! NO!
