If you were Gloria Arroyo and somebody asked you this..."masaya ka na ba?"?

... how would you react?

I somehow managed to find this from her SONA 2009.

"As a country in the path of typhoons and in the Pacific Rim of Fire, we must be as prepared as the latest technology permits to anticipate natural calamities when that is possible; to extend immediate and effective relief when it is not….The mapping of flood- and landslide-prone areas is almost complete. Early warning, forecasting and monitoring systems have been improved, with weather tracking facilities in Subic, Tagaytay, Mactan, Mindanao, Pampanga.... "
(and then clapping of hands followed)

Do I hear some violent reactions here?

If I am Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and somebody asked me "..masaya ka na ba?"

Funny, but in that situational question that you have asked.

This is the scenario playing on my mind...

---> I pictured myself (as the President) walking on the slums of Manila near the market.

I want to check the area so I hailed a pedicab driver (a very young boy, probably an out-of-school youth) to tour me around.

The boy was amazed and and almost speechless.

"Madam Presidint" finally, he exclaimed in disbelief.

I grinned at him. "Oo noh, iho. Ako to."

Funny no other person noticed me but him.

Minutes later the boy asked me something,

"...Masaya ka na ba?..."

On my mind I want to answer...

"Yes I am very much happy and satisfied.

I got power and I got wealth that I desired most.I am the most powerful person in the Philippines...blah...blah...

And I am filthy rich...very...very rich".

Wearing the familiar smirk on my face.

But I halted the idea, instead I answer...

"Anak, ihinto mo...Ako na (...ang magmamaneho)..."

Then I drive the pedicab into a small alley.

I was touring the kid to the familiar places in which I grew up with (..probably a pigment of some of my wild imagination)...

Suddenly, I stopped in front of a dirty old house.

Pointing at the house

"...Dito kami nangupahan ng mananahi kong nanay...Dito ako lumaki at nagkaisip.

Dito ako nagsimulang magkaisip at mangarap..blah...blah..."

"...oo, di baleng magdildil ng asin, basta may sariling bahay."

added by the ne old woman on her 40's who appeared at my left side.

Suddenly, a lot of people gathered around me.

How amazing that they are very happy to see me with their ever-welcoming smile.

Even without my bodyguards...

Someone from the crowd commented

"Sa dinamidami ng politikong nagdaan dito, ikaw pa lang ang huminto at nakinig sa amin..."

The man is teary-eyed.

I replied

"Ramdam ko kayo..."

Still wearing my smug smile.

Again the man replied

"Anak, sana wag kang magbago..."

After a while, all together we left and attended a "special engagement for a cause"...

The "common people" followed me to press con outside the malacanan palace.

In front of the local and foreign media I proudly shouted

(...and the local crowd who followed me also joined, in one voice.)

"Ganito kami sa Pilipinas...Sana ganito rin sa buong mundo!".Of course I later translated it in English...and...blah...blah...blah...(almost 2 hours of speach marathon.)

The Speaker of the House the shouted

" Lahat ay masaya basta may Gloria..."

I then added to finish my speech

"...the Filipino people is worth dying for..."

(...and then the clapping of hands followed)

And the crowd (including the foreigners) were chanting and shouting in a united voice

"GLORIA!...GLORIA!...(..the marching band is playing the tune "Gloria Gloria Labandera, Gloria, Gloria Labandera. Labandera si Gloria". It was like a fiesta )"

Suddenly there were meteor showers...

"yeah! god were celebrating with us!" The people wowed..

...and an aurelia borealis appeared on the sky

"Yehey", still they are cheering.

...and a strong wind came..

...followed by rain...Oh not just rain!

typhoon PEPENG has arrived!

...then there is a tsunami about 1000 feet high...coming to hit me directly.

...Also a tornado followed, making sure I will not going to make it alive...

...Everybody was in shocked and paralized... just watching and waiting for the catastrophe to happen.

There is nothing I can do. Someone up there made sure my fate...I am doom...and also all the people around who believes in me....

..."Aaarghhh..."

Meanwhile, far away... in a "top secret CIA building" somewhere in America.

The "messenger" handed a "report paper" (with a red "Confidential: top secret" sign written on it) to the "high ranking official".

After reading the "report"

The "high ranking official" immediately called somebody...

"Mr. President...It is done..."

ALAS end of the world...for Filipinos.

Oh what a scenario! hehehe...

Have a nice day!

Either the help we need is not justified so we feel it hard to ask for. When we are unable to have some thing we need or desire that is the right time to ask some one for help. Thank you.
