It was purely my choice.

Before my graduation from high school my father asked me what I wanted to be. Thinking I was funny I jokingly said "I want to be a janitor," to which my father tersely replied "Fine, as long as you're the best janitor there is."

That's when I knew I wouldn't be a comedian either.

I had great interest (and some skill) in math and reading so I decided to try engineering. My parents (teacher and accountant) didn't intervene and gave me full support. I'm happy I made the right decision.

I did two years of computer science and earned an associate's degree in it but I really didn't like it that's why I never pursued anything pass the two years. I am going back to school and this time I will be doing what I really want which is forensics. My decision was never been questioned by my family and it was my choice when I did computer science and this time around is again my choice. What made me decide on taking up forensics is because I am fascinated with it and I like to be challenge a lot.

Totally my choice. I actually went against my mom's wishes. ^^

My mother wanted me to take Accounting, because I had always been a Math awardee. But during my high school, I realized that I love English and Literature more, so I took a Communications course in UP. I currently have a great job, and have never regretted taking that course, not even for a minute. ^_^

My father made the choice for me - to take up Commerce and to major in Accounting. If I had my way, I would have taken up Journalism however, in the '70s, Manila was in great turmoil. Lots of student protests and demonstrations against Marcos. I am from Cebu and the schools here did not offer Journalism at that time which meant uprooting myself and living in Manila which my father was really against. Anyway, I graduated from the course my father picked for me and I do not regret his having interfered in my choices.

I chose my course in college but I never really liked it. I wanted to take designing or architecture, but my parents didn't want to me study in Manila... so I enrolled in UPLB as a BS Biology student. I hated it at first, then I started to like it by my third year. Sometimes I regret having not pursued my passion for arts and designing, but I've learned to love biology and now I'm almost finished with my Master's degree...and soon I will be out of the country for a job that I never thought I would get. Now I'm glad I pursued bio... it's a lot of hardwork, but now I'm starting to reap the benefits. =)

When I was in college, I really didn't know what I wanted yet. I listened to people who gave advice. They ranged from my parents to relatives to friends. I relied on them for my happiness. I ended up with management as my major. I wasn't too thrilled with it. I thought I could be someone I was not. In the end, after listening to everyone, I made a decision for myself to be and pursue the world of teaching. Believe me, I am much happier right now.

Yeah. It was my own choice of taking up my course, influenced by the words of people around me...

Yes, it was my choice. My parents did not force me to take the course.

I decided to take accounting because I am fond of numbers and very glad of it.

Totally my choice...wanted to become a researcher, but I had so much fun in college....overstayed, ended up not being a researcher...but the journey (college) was a learning in itself.

yes, it is my choice.

this may sound cliche but do follow your heart. play to your strengths and go after what makes you happy because if you take up something that you really are not interested in, you are bound to be unhappy about it...
