Ikinagagalak ko po kayong makilala.... when addressing an older person.

Ikinagagalak kitang makilala when addressing a younger one.

Be sure to pronounce your vowels in short vowels like

1) a as in rata;

2) e as in memo;

3) i as in illegal;

4) o as in lego;

5) u an in ultra.

Hope you will enjoy your stay here in the Philippines : )

GOD BLESS YOUR TRIP!!!!!

Oh, you must bring with you mosquito repellent. Take care!

hi!

the above posts are very true, but may I add that in person, it will be too formal to say it (kinagagalak kitang makilala) than most english speakers would normally say when introduced to another person. If in the Philippines, one could still say "nice to meet you" that's fine. It will also be great, since most filipinos do speak english.. cyber, online, emails, its fine to use the "kinagagalak kitang makilala."

goodluck.

Ikeenagagalak ko po kayong makilala.

Ee-kee-nah-ga-ga-luk

ko (not koh)

po (again not poh)

kah-yong

mah-kee-la-la.

Remember that the A in tagalog is differently pronounced. It's an AH not EI. And the I is pronounced as EE.

Simple and Basic Phrase:

"Natutuwa akong makilala ka"

How to pronounce:

always remember that tagalog diction is based in

a-e-i-o-u vowels. Do not slang.

do not say:

"Ne-two-two-we ey-kow me-keye-lay-lah keye..."

instead:

"Nah-tu-tu-wah ah-koh mah-ki-lah-lah kah"
