YES....."Majority" of FILIPINO employees(especially govt. employees)...LACK INITIATIVE.,
RIGHTS? THERE ARE NO RIGHTS VIOLATED ON THE WORK PLACE....THE CAMERA IS FOR SECURITY AND PERFORMANCE MONITORING.
- ELIMINATE PILFERAGE OF SUPPLIES...etc.etc.etc.
its a good idea to have security cameras installed on govt. facilities.

I don't think monitoring them with cameras would help. You may just make them uncomfortable. Our office is monitored by at least 8 security cameras anyway but no one really care in an environment like ours.
Rights? You may just let them know or post a notice on the wall that the premises is being monitored by a security camera.

cameras can monitor the actions but not performance. camers will only give you scenes and not business results. it is more for security like theft, fraud, etc. not performance. most probably, what you can do is monitor individual employee contributions like how how much work is being done by a certain employee compared to others. big brother never got the best performance from his housemates until they were out already.

i have security cameras in my business in all parts of the business except the CR. i think that is the only place there would be any problem with any type of employee rights.
other than that i think the employer has more of a right to protect his business than the employee has to not be monitored. if the cameras and someone watching them makes them nervous then GOOD!!! they should stop doing things they shouldnt be doing and they would have nothing to be nervous about.

All they have to claim is they are losing money to employee theft and it's not only legal but fairly common. Just as phone lines and internet connections are monitored.
This would only arise if the employer feels his employees are not doing their jobs correctly or the expense would make you wait until the savings might pay for it.

Yes here in the us it would be illegal unless you notify the employees first, and let them know they are monitored. Have them agree by signing consent to it anyways. That way you will be protected.
