Is it reasonable and safe to do a mail order business from the Philippines? Is there a significant inbound and outbound foreign mail theft problem in the Philippines? Do the Philippine Customs usually charge import duty on the valued inbound mail received into the Philippines?

Mail theft is a huge problem in the Philippines. Especially anything comming in with a foreign adress.

Cutoms crocodiles are evan worse, charging anything they please and feel they can get away with.

Doing a mail order business in the Philipines is a really bad idea unless your dealing with high value items that are worth using a courier service like fedex and evan then the customs crocodiles will kill you iin duties.

The Philippines use to be an best pal of the united statesA. Now they undesirable mouth the united statesA. each and every possibility they get. they're no longer friends of the united statesA. they use the united statesA. they're attempting to kiss as much as China and that i'm hoping while China starts off calling interior the favors they have given to the Philippines they are going to enable the country to be autonomous via fact the U.S. did. the fact is on the 2d the Philippines desires the U.S. extra suitable than the U.S. desires the Philippines. The U.S. does not would desire to have a base interior the Philippines any extra via long variety planes and missiles. The Philippines does little to combat international terrorism they can't even administration terrorism of their own us of a. many human beings that bear in concepts the U.S. and Philippines relationship from international conflict II want our friendship grow to be as solid because it grow to be the comparable, yet concern as quickly as we are all long gone the extra youthful technology interior the U.S. won't supply crap for the Philippines. Getting kicked interior the enamel gets previous after a at the same time as even for us older persons.

One and Worf are correct.

The Philippines International postal center in Manila deals with all Foreign mail and is notorious for theft.

My postmaster here in the States said if you register and insure a letter or package thieves there simply use it as a shopping list.

You would be required to use UPS or some other shipper as Philippine mail is 100% unsafe.

The biggest mail theft problem seems to be African countries and the Philippines.

The simple answer here is yes. If you send items to the Philippines by normal post, chances are they will be stolen. Use a courier service if you want something. However, doing this is also a hassle as the customs service will severely over value the items and sting you for it. Such a shame that these scumbags can act with such impunity.

Yes... it is safe to send mail and parcel via express mail going to USA or any part of the world by which PHLPost has a bilateral agreement. Our commitment to the EMS cooperative is to receive the item at usps within 3 days from posting. That means USA has to deliver the item within 1 to 2 days upon receipt or else they will be penalized same here in the Phils. My advice is please try EMS... don't easily judge the hardworking employees of the post ofc around the world without even trying. We don't deserve to be judged without trying the service. Salamat po.

The postal office will never admit it. Just look at the proliferation of courier services all over the country. That should answer your question.

Mail order BUSINESS? Only if you can afford to use special couriers like LBC....to get it on the plane...
