In your opinion do you think mangkukulam people (sorcerers/voodoo practioners) are for real? Can they really make someone sick?

Of course not.

The thing is with what people belief, they are usually self-validating. Since we are alive, bad things happen to us. And sometimes we explain things that we could not explain based on our beliefs. If things like this happen to some other part of the world, maybe someone would try to link it to their own religious belief. Think about the biblical story of Job. If that had happened in our country, we would have probably said that he was "pinaglaruan" by dwendes. But since it happened in a Jewish setting, it was a test by God.

Its really surprising too how many Filipinos believe in mangkukulams. But there are still parallels in common superstitions. Its the belief that empowers the superstition. We have a meaningless pattern of events and it is our mind that connects the dots and gives it the interpretation we want. That is how belief in it, reinforces that belief.

Nope. I have been the subject of a barang or kulam once, back in college. Our landlady's jewelry and some cash was stolen and they suspected one of the boarders as the culprit. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, they suspected it was me but had no proof, one of their relative who didn't believe I was guilty secretly warned me that they had hired a magkukulam to make my hand rot and cause me great pain. When a week went by and my hand didn't rot and hurt, the landlady's son decided to take matters in his own hands and after getting drunk one night, woke me up in the middle of the night and tried to beat a confession out of me, needless to say I transferred to another boarding house the next day.

Even though I haven't seen one, I believe that they exist. And yes, they can really make you sick. In fact, they can even put something gross inside you like worms, cockroaches, etc. especially when you get a fight with them. So be careful especially when you are in rural area or barrios as there are many of them living there.

yes, i do believe. its called kulam or barang,

if you say kulam you would feel sick and something hurts from your body, when you say barang something will come out from your body, like insects and worms.Barang is the incurable unless the one who made the barang will undo what she did to the one she made barang.

there is also what they call "kilkig", its also like kulam but most of the time you wont feelel anything or it will just have symptomsms like you are just having a bad stomach.

yes i do believe.. we have neighbor here who became a victim of sorcery. the story is, in batangas with her friend she meet a lesbian there super like cia nung lesbian to be gf but when she said no sa panliligaw nito the lesbian got so depress at dahil di nya matangap yung pag tangi ng birl na super like nya "pinakulam nya to" this story is for real, when the woman get back here in our place she got so many lice sa boong katawan, knowing that she is so flawless and beautiful halos bote na yung pinang titiris kahit anu gawin di maubos ubos yung kuto nya talaga pumayat na cia ever..gumaling din cia after na magpa albularyo at humingi ng tawad sa lesbian, naawa naman to sa kanya at ayun binawi na yung sumpa..i dont know if its kulam or barang or its same..

the moral lesson is that everytime you go other place try to be nice and dont snob them and trip them, and also dont eat foods that they offer or gave them something from you like picture, shirt or what so ever.. and one more thing dont look at them in their eyes...

take My Rabbit Loves Me for example

somehow, she made all of us think that she earned her points on her own merit. in actuality, she conjured up her evil kulam spirits which deceived us to think that users are actually voting for her undeniably good {and i use that term loosely} answers every single time without any help from trolls.

Not really. And not right now.

However, should any autopsy be done on my corporeal remains, and find no virus nor any microbial agent sufficient to explain my own demise, I dare say, BURN ALL THOSE WITCHES TO THE STAKE!!!
