Good afternoon,
I'm Prof Laset and I am an alumni and faculty of UP. During the time that i took the UPCAT, there were no review centers. And for a time, i didn't think that review centers had a significant effect on qualifying for UP.
However, i noticed now, that there are too many review centers around and I have come to realize that it is now a disadvantage for a student not to enroll in a review.
The problem now is that review centers are quite expensive. (This is actually the reason why people say that only the rich qualify for UP).
I really recommend that you enroll in a review center as it would really help you practice for the UPCAT. Our team wants to address the price issue of review centers so we developed an Online UPCAT Review for only 990. And i can tell that you are already frequently online so i think you will appreciate this review course.

I didn't take any of those formal review classes. I did most of my review for the actual test on my own, with the help of some review materials my mom bought me.
However, I did attend this one-day UPCAT Review done by the UP Batangan (an organization of students from Batangas studying in UP Diliman); I'm not so sure if the actual "review" helped since it was just half the day, sort of a mini-version mock exam. But what did help was that they gave us pointers and tips that proved to be useful. They shared with us their personal experiences and told us some of the things we should expect.
Some of the tips they gave us were also useful when I took the ACET, based on results.

Hello :) I'm currently a freshman at UPD.
My mom had me take review classes at MSA. I wouldn't say that the classes were necessary per se. What I mean to say is that you can still do self-study with your own review materials and still do really well in the UPCAT. It's more that the review classes prepared me for the types of questions that would be thrown at me during the test; also, they helped in the time pressure aspect of test-taking. :D
Oh, and yeah. I used the books that were included in the review package and the handouts they gave out during class to review. They helped. :)
Good luck! I hope you pass :)

I did not take any formal review classes but I did read some books at my own leisure (and pace).
There's a really very helpful reviewer called CORECT (comprehensive reviewer for college admission tests). It's available in National Bookstore, last I checked in 2007 (when my brother was to take the UPCAT).
