Why do Filipino girls have large/strangely shaped feet compared to other Asians?

I live in Hong Kong and I noticed that Filipino girls usually have thicker feet and bigger toes than Chinese girls. Sometimes, I see a Filipino girl who is only 70% as tall but has feet 2 times larger than the Chinese girl next to her.

Also, some of their feet are shaped funnily (while Chinese, Japanese and Caucasian feet are all the same shape even though they are of different size).

Is there any reason for this? Genetics/environment?

Also, please don't misunderstand. I am not passing judgement. A lot of Chinese girls have really ugly feet, so thin that it looks painful to walk. A lot of Caucasians have really wide feet that look out of proportion.

I am just a little curious! Especially about the obviously different shape. It's not bad, sometimes cute, but I just think it's weird from the Chinese point of view. Thanks!

What have you mentioned is relatively true, Genetics ! .

Most filipino you met are usually visayan blood, these tribe / blood are relatively short in height, relatively fair skin, flat nose, thick lips & usually small in sizes.

They are perfectly normal, thats what they are. Unless, they marry interracial, then they got different physical build.

Due to geograpical location they come from, most filipino tribe are usually mountainous people, therefore walking long distance everyday are normal to them. Which explain that they need thicker feet & toes for such adaptation.

Don't forget, we humans are still in evolution, therefore lifestyle, genes, living conditions contribute our physical build. I can bet with you that the chances for you to walk in the wild with un-level ground, you will get your joints twisted easily & for them, its peanut.

I guess its just a physical trait of filipino people.Like italians have big noses.But i agree with you I have seen small petite and very pretty feminine looking filipina. Then you see her feet and they look like they should belong to a man twice her size.No big deal to me since im not one of those guys that has interest in feet.

My feet is not large i have a size 8 regular and have a nice arch, but my toes are too wide apart.

My fiance is from mindano and of visayan descent but her feet are just as small as she is. I guess it depends on the individual.
